Help Katie in Her Battle Against Cancer and Homelessness
Bre and Austin's family was recently approached at a Walmart with a simple question: did the money on the ground belong to them? Even though they could have easily claimed it, they chose honesty and said it was not theirs.
To recognize their honesty, the family was given $1,000. Overcome with emotion, Bre and Austin then shared the heartbreaking reality they have been living through.
Their daughter, Katie, has terminal brain cancer and has been given only a few months to live. Her family has spent everything they had trying to save her, and the financial burden has become overwhelming.
While continuing Katie's fight, the family is also experiencing homelessness. They have stayed in tents and hotels while searching for safe, stable housing and doing everything possible to remain together.
Katie's treatment costs hundreds of thousands of dollars. Bre and Austin are desperately trying to continue her care while also finding the security and shelter their family urgently needs.
Yet even in the middle of illness, uncertainty, and heartbreak, this family still chose honesty.
